It’s all too common seeing people running red lights in the Fort Myers area. It is not only important that you stop at a red light but also that you watch for other people running the light when your light turns green.

Nationally, about 1 in 3 people admitted in a 2010 survey by AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety that they ran a red light in the last 30 days.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, about half the people killed in these types of crashes are not the people who ran the light but the people who were obeying the traffic device.
